Job summary

Oakley Transport Inc. seeks a Driver Manager to build positive relationships with a group of drivers and coach them toward maximum fleet productivity and profitability. You will ensure safe operation and on-time pickups and deliveries, using an open, mentoring approach to foster driver success.

The role requires effective communication, collaboration with planning, and ongoing driver retention efforts. A flexible schedule and strong organizational skills are essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree or some post-secondary education preferred.
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Prior transportation industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with drivers and other staff to resolve issues.
• Hold drivers accountable and address performance issues promptly.
• Review freight from planning group based on DOT Hours of Service.
• Counsel and discipline drivers when necessary per Oakley policy.
• Provide complete load information and routing for driver readiness.
• Track KPI metrics and prepare daily/weekly reports.
