Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Shuttle Driver to deliver full trailers to the domicile and return empties to the distribution center. You will inspect equipment, secure cargo, and maintain logs per DOT rules, with potential line haul or backhaul duties.

Requirements include a CDL-A, 1+ year or 50,000 miles of experience, and strong safety focus. This full-time role is based in a McLane DC, with day shift opportunities and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer experience.
• Meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full trailers to the domicile and return empty trailers to the Distribution Center.
• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Secure product inside the trailer to prevent damage.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• May perform line haul and/or backhaul; work safely to prevent injury and product damage.

This Shuttle Driver is responsible for the delivery of full trailers to the Domicile and taking empty trailers back to the Distribution Center.

What You’ll Do As a Shuttle Driver

• Inspect the rig for defects pre- and post-trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Ensure that product is secured inside the trailer for undamaged transport.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or PeopleNet) according to DOT regulations.
• May at times perform line haul and/or backhaul.
• Work safely to prevent injury to people and damage to products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a Shuttle Driver Teammate

• At least 21 years of age
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL-A)
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience
• Meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
