Job summary

Werner Enterprises seeks a Safety Specialist to conduct training and ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations. Responsibilities include accident reviews, BAT testing, and counseling drivers on policy. The role requires strong presentation and customer service skills and the ability to orient drivers to the Werner standard.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with outdoor duties and occasional travel, supporting the Safety Department across shifts and locations in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; college preferred.
• Public speaking and/or adult education experience.
• Transportation Safety experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of Safety Specialist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all Safety Department training, including simulator training.
• Perform safety functions including accident reviews and remedial log training.
• Perform drug and Breath Alcohol Tests (BAT).
• Counsel drivers for DOT violations and company policy.
• Conduct road tests and evaluations to ensure driver safety and compliance.
• Orient drivers to their new Werner position; conduct pre-trip inspections.
