Job summary

Werner Enterprises Inc in Joliet, Illinois is seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Responsibilities include conducting training courses, administering drug tests, and providing on-call support to the Safety Department.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent experience is essential.
• College degree is preferred.
• Transportation Safety experience and Class A CDL are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training courses for the Safety Department.
• Perform drug and Breath Alcohol Tests.
• Counsel drivers for DOT violations.
• Conduct road tests and evaluations.

Skills

High level of proficiency in procedures, policies, methodology, and instruction

Knowledge of Federal Regulations and Company requirements

Skill in operating a semi-truck and trailer

Excellent listening skills

Excellent decision-making ability

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to work independently and be detail oriented

Education

High school graduate or equivalent experience

College preferred

Public speaking and/or adult education experience

Transportation Safety experience and a Class A CDL
