Job description

About UZURV

At UZURV, we believe that everyone has the right to get to the places they need and want to go, including work, school, shopping, connecting with friends and family, attending worship services, or just a night out. Many people are able to drive, take public transit, or use a rideshare or taxicab, but about 25% of Americans (and especially older adults and people with disabilities) need assistance for getting out and about. We call it assisted mobility, and that’s what UZURV exists to deliver.

Company Overview

UZURV is a high-growth company that utilizes a technology platform to connect drivers, operating their own vehicles and providers operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles, with older adults and people with disabilities who need assisted mobility in order to get out and about within their communities. Since our founding in Richmond, VA, in 2017, we have grown into a leading national assisted mobility provider by partnering with public transit agencies. Today, we are operating in more than thirty communities across eighteen states and the District of Columbia, and in half of the twenty largest transit agencies in the country. Better still, we are helping meet the transportation needs of millions of riders each year. And it’s not by accident. UZURV has grown, because of the quality of our service. Riders, drivers, and employees give us high marks for our organizational culture, and for the quality and timeliness of our service. Additionally, our state-of-the-art technology enables us to provide an exceptional product at a cost significantly lower than the costs that our clients typically pay for the types of transportation services that we provide.

A Little Bit About The Role

At UZURV, we are seeking a Driver Safety and Claims Associate to provide administrative, operational, and first-line ticket and case support for our driver safety, claims management, and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance programs. Reporting to the Driver Safety and Claims Specialist, this entry- to associate-level role focuses on day-to-day incident intake, ticket routing via platforms like Zendesk, document collection, compliance record-keeping, and initial review of driver safety telematics. This is an ideal role for an organized, detail-oriented professional looking to build a career in transportation safety, transit compliance, or risk management.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Ticket Intake & Management: Act as a primary agent for inbound safety alerts, incident logs, and driver accident reports routed through Zendesk (or similar ticketing tools).
  • Macro & Workflow Utilization: Utilize Zendesk workflows, macros, and custom ticket fields to properly categorize, tag, and elevate critical safety and claims incidents to the Specialist team.
  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Ensure prompt response and resolution times for safety-related inquiries, driver notifications, and third-party claims tickets.
  • Initial Intake & Review: Daily monitoring of driver telematics reports, safety dashboards, and automated safety alerts; flag potential risks or infractions for the Specialist.
  • Training Coordination: Assist in scheduling, tracking, and distributing safety training modules and driver onboarding materials.
  • Audit Preparation: Collect and organize vehicle inspection logs, maintenance records, and safety equipment checklists to support safety audits.
  • First Notice of Loss (FNOL): Serve as the initial point of contact for driver incident submissions, gathering initial accident reports, photos, police reports, and driver statements.
  • Claims File Maintenance: Maintain meticulous, up-to-date digital records and attached ticket documentation for all open and closed insurance claims within the system.
  • Liaison Assistance: Coordinate routine communications between drivers, internal operations teams, and external insurance adjusters to gather missing documentation.
  • Drug & Alcohol Program Administration: Assist with scheduling and tracking required FTA drug and alcohol testing (49 CFR Part 655 & Part 40), ensuring chain-of-custody documentation is complete.
  • Regulatory Recordkeeping: Organize and audit compliance files to ensure UZURV remains prepared for state, federal, and partner transit agency audits.
  • Reporting: Assist in drafting routine incident summaries, regulatory logs, and monthly compliance metrics.
What You’ll Need To Have To Succeed
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in an administrative, customer support, logistics, or risk management role.
  • Software Experience: Prior experience with Zendesk (or comparable ticketing software like Freshdesk, Salesforce Service Cloud, or Jira Service Desk) is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Customer Support & Ticketing Savvy: Familiarity with managing ticket queues, using macros, tagging cases, and maintaining SLAs in Zendesk.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organization skills and high precision in record-keeping, tagging, and data entry.
  • Technical Aptitude: Comfort learning fleet management software, telematics platforms, and claims management systems.
  • Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with drivers, adjusters, and internal teams via email and ticket response tools.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive/confidential information responsibly.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to learn local, state, and federal transportation regulations (including FTA standards).
