Job summary

J.P. Mascaro & Sons in Allentown, PA is seeking reliable Sanitation Workers/Driver's Helpers to join our Lehigh Valley team. You will support the driver, ride on the truck's rear step when safe, and help collect curbside waste and recycling in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid, active Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
• Must be able to ride on the rear step of the truck while in motion.

Responsibilities

• Show up for work on time with proper PPE and ready to go.
• Partner with the driver to safely navigate the truck, especially in backing.
• Use proper hand signals to communicate with the driver when backing.
• Collect curbside waste and/or recycling in a safe and efficient manner.
• Return containers to their original location after collection.
• Clean up any spilled or dropped debris.
• Maintain polite and professional customer interactions.
• Refer customer questions/concerns to the route supervisor as soon as practical.
• Assist with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Help keep the vehicle clean and presentable per company standards.
