Job summary

Knight Transportation seeks a leader to drive the Driver Recruiter process and develop staffing plans to sustain growth across all company fleets. You will ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and coach recruiters to achieve performance goals.

You will collaborate with Terminal Managers and Business Unit leaders, shaping hiring strategies and enhancing the driver recruitment website and job boards to meet department objectives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years transportation experience required.
• Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to manage and motivate others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Driver Recruiter process and develop plans to maintain staffing across Company fleets.
• Manage the recruiting process and ensure compliance with employment laws and DOT rules.
• Coach and counsel recruiters to drive performance and development.
• Evaluate driver requirements and plan hiring strategies for all fleets.
• Build relationships with Terminal Managers and Business Unit leaders to meet business needs.
• Oversee driver recruitment website and job board alignment with department objectives.
• Direct the Recruiting department to improve driver retention and meet goals.
• Support other recruiting areas as needed.
• Proactively assist others to achieve organizational objectives.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Lead the Driver Recruiter process in addition to development of plans and strategies to maintain a sufficient staff of Drivers to ensure continued growth in all Company fleets.

• Manage the driver recruiting process and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations to maintain the highest standard of safety.
• Achieve regional growth/hiring goals set forth by the Company leadership team.
• Oversee the coaching and counselling of recruiters in assigned areas to encourage employee development and performance improvement
• Evaluate Driver requirements and develop plans and strategies for achieving hiring goals for all Company fleets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Terminal Managers and Business Unit leaders in assigned areas to resolve concerns and meet individual business needs.
• Assist with the new driver internal website experience and job board to ensure website is relevant and aligns with department strategic objectives.
• Structure training and direct data integrity of the Driver Recruiting staff to enhance skills.
• Direct Recruiting department for improved Driver retention to meet department and Company goals.
• May be responsible for various other areas within Recruiting (Dedicated, Job Creation, Coordinators, etc.).
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• 2+ years transportation experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to maintain, evaluate, and utilize statistical information.
• Must have strong problem solving skills
• Must be able to manage and motivate others.
