Job summary

TOTAL Transportation of Mississippi is seeking a recruiter to screen applicants and manage the hiring process for the Jackson terminal. You will interview candidates, review driving records, and extend offers while communicating job details and opportunities to applicants.

The role requires basic transportation knowledge, a high school diploma, and 0–1 year of related experience. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm with a compensation range noted.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with personnel at all levels and in all departments.

Responsibilities

• Screen applicants to fill openings while staying updated on hiring guidelines.
• Interview, review MVR, DAC and background checks for applicants.
• Extend offers to qualified candidates and inform applicants about pay and opportunities.
• Provide job openings and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality to ensure efficient operations.

Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm
Compensation Range: $35,900 - $53,800

What You’ll Do

• Seek out and screen applicants to fill existing openings while maintaining current knowledge of transportation rules and regulations as well as Total Transportation hiring guidelines.
• Interview, gather and analyze data to determine if applicants meet Total Transportation hiring guidelines; Review MVR, DAC and criminal background of potential applicants.
• Extend an offer to potential applicants who meet Total Transportation qualifications.
• Provide driver applicants with Total Transportation job openings on a daily basis; Inform applicants about operations, benefits, pay, OTR and dedicated opportunities.
• Communicate with internal and external customers.
• Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• May perform additional duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For

Education

• Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma.

Experience

• 0-1 year of transportation experience, training, sales or recruiting

Skills/Certifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with personnel in all departments in all levels.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft office suite.
