The Fresh Start Program

Transylvania Regional Hospital’s structured outpatient program for individuals who need moderate outpatient behavioral health treatment but do not require acute inpatient psychiatric care.

Since 2007, the program has provided outpatient behavioral health and psychiatric medication management to adults with Medicare. It treats a variety of conditions from grief and depression to PTSD and bipolar disorder.

A typical day of treatment consists of two groups separated by a short break. Patients can choose between morning groups (9:30 am–11:30 am) and afternoon groups (12:30 pm–2:30 pm). Groups run three days per week—Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday—for both mornings and afternoons.

Transportation to the program is available for those who cannot transport themselves, covering most of the Brevard and Hendersonville areas and some of Arden.

We use E‑350 shuttle buses that carry up to fourteen passengers and provide handicap accessibility, including a wheelchair lift.

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for safe and timely transportation of Fresh Start Program patients to and from group meetings. The Driver also maintains vehicle cleanliness and safety daily and reports vehicle conditions regularly.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Awareness and ability to work with an older adult population, providing exemplary patient care; assist patients entering and exiting vehicles.
• NC Driver's license, Class C.
• High school diploma.
