Job summary

MTM Transit in Peoria, AZ seeks entry-level Paratransit Shuttle Bus Drivers (Non-CDL) for full-time work with training classes starting weekly. Location is on-site at 12815 North 39th Ave, Phoenix, with on-site Gilbert training. Earn $20.75/hr plus a monthly safety bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license for the past 3 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
• No Reckless driving in the past 5 years.
• No DUI or DWI convictions.
• No more than 1 moving violation during the last 3 years.
• Flexible schedule: 7 days a week between 4:00am–1:00am (35-40+ hrs/week).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
• Assist with mobility devices and securement as required for safety protocols.
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop-off of the customer.
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DV I inspections as required.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit in partnership with Valley Metro is looking for Full-Time Paratransit Shuttle Bus Drivers (Entry-Level, Non-CDL) to join our team in Peoria, AZ. We currently have training classes that start every week.

Location: 12815 North 39th Ave Phoenix, AZ 85029 (The 3 week training will be located onsite at our Gilbert location off of Arizona Ave & Elliot Rd.)

What You’ll Need:

• Experience, Education & Certifications:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License for the past 3 years
• Possess valid authorization to work in the State of Arizona and the United States
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check
• No Reckless driving in the past 5 years
• No DUI or DWI convictions
• Must not have more than 1 moving violation during each of the last 3 years
• In the event that your license has been previously revoked, you must have at least 3 full subsequent years post reinstatement with no violations
• Schedule flexibility: Looking for individuals who are available 7 days a week between the hours of 4:00am - 1:00am (35-40+ hours per week) Shifts will be assigned after training is completed

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

What You’ll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
