Job summary

MTM Transit in Salem, OR is hiring full-time drivers for ADA Paratransit, Shop & Ride, and Fixed Regional routes. We offer paid training, assistance with CDL prep, and a compelling benefits package. Expect a driver role focused on safe, reliable transportation and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid Oregon Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License for past 5 years.
• No more than five moving violations in 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
• Assist with mobility device and securement for safety protocols.
• Ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off of customers.
• Show sensitivity to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.

MTM Transit, in partnership with the Salem Area Mass Transit, is looking for Full Time Drivers to operate the ADA Paratransit, Shop & Ride and Fixed Regional routes in Salem, OR. We currently have training classes that start every other week!

What you’ll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid Oregon Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License for the past 5 years
• No more than five (5) moving violations in three (3) years
• No more than two (2) at-fault or chargeable accidents in the past five (5) years
• No suspension or revocations of driving privileges within the past (5) years(This does not pertain to any commercial or CDL downgrades.)
• No conviction in the last 10 years of: a felony, drug and alcohol offense. Reckless driving, hit & run, leaving the scene of an accident, negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, vehicular assault or homicide.
• No DWI/DUI charges
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle record check
• Valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronicdevice
• Ability to maintain high level ofconfidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehendinstructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, andschedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOTregulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the servicearea
