Job summary

Monarch Communities in Paramus, NJ, is seeking a friendly driver to transport residents to doctor appointments, outings, shopping, and scenic drives. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and hourly pay of $18.50–$19.00.

You will report to the Life Enrichment Director and support the life enrichment team with programming and resident activities while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience driving seniors preferred.
• Friendly, cheerful demeanor and reliable transportation aide.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to medical appointments, outings, and activities.
• Ensure vehicle is safe, clean, and inspected before trips.
• Assist with setting up resident programs and document attendance.
• Follow safety policies and maintain accurate logs.
• Participate in trainings and comply with regulations.

Job Description

We are an assisted living community looking for a friendly and cheerful person who will be driving residents to and from doctor appointments, recreational outings, shopping excursions, and scenic drives.

Schedule

20 hours per week - flexible

Salary

$18.50-$19.00 hourly

Reports To

The Driver will report to the Life Enrichment Director.

FLSA Classification

This position is classified as Non-Exempt and is an Hourly Position.

Job Overview

Provide transportation for residents on company sponsored activities and/or medical appointments and assists the life enrichment team with setting up and conducting programming for residents.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Drives residents to and from their assigned destination in a safe manner.
• Ensures the vehicle is inspected before each use to ensure it is safe and clean prior to leaving the community.
• Ensures preventive maintenance and all other maintenance required, it performed in a timely manner.
• Verifies that all passengers and their equipment (wheelchairs, walkers) are safely secured prior to departure.
• Keeps an accurate record of all inspections, maintenance, and resident attendance.
• Assists in setting up tables/chairs within the community for resident programs
• Conducts programming for residents.
• Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled.
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher level of education.
• Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a valid driver’s license, with a driving record that is in good standing.
• Previous experience as a driver for seniors is preferred.

Physical Abilities

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
