The Orchard Assisted Living seeks a dependable Driver to transport residents for outings, appointments, and Life Enrichment activities, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and at least one year of experience; prior senior-care exposure is a plus. Competitive pay and benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement.
• Driving record must be acceptable to company insurance carrier.
• Minimum one-year experience preferred.
• Excellent driving skills on wet/slippery roads.
• Ability to load/unload wheelchair-dependent residents safely.
• Knowledge of safe driving practices is essential.

Job description

The Orchard Assisted Living is looking for a Driver for our wonderful residents!

Driver Essential Functions:

• Safely transports residents on routine scheduled shopping excursions, appointments, Life Enrichment activities, and other outings.
• Observes safety regulations and requirements at all times
• Schedules routine preventative maintenance for vehicles and keeps vehicles in good repair at all times
• Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicles, inside and out
• Assists in gathering residents before and during outings and ensures the safety of the residents at all times
• Keeps records and schedules of individual resident requests
• Calculates group trip costs, obtains charge paperwork from residents and forwards billing to the Business Office Manager
• Records mileage and maintains vehicle log

Driver Non-Essential Functions:

• Leads by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership
• Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
• Attends required community meetings and participates Life Enrichment activities when able
• Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University
• Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on a regular, predictable basis
• Becomes familiar and understands how to report a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent
• All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents

Driver Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

• Must have a high school education
• Must possess a valid Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement in the state if required
• Must have a driving record acceptable to the company insurance carrier
• Minimum one-year experience preferred
• Must possess good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads
• Must be able to load and unload wheelchair-dependent residents in a safe, caring, and courteous manner
• Exceptional knowledge of all aspects of safe driving a must
