Job summary

The Orchards is seeking a Transportation Assistant to help our residents get to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and community activities with safety and compassion. You will drive, assist with boarding and mobility devices, operate wheelchair lifts, and maintain logs and vehicle cleanliness, coordinating with nursing staff to meet resident needs.

A high school diploma, must be at least 25 years old, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification are required or obtained soon

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• CPR & First Aid certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.
• Previous passenger transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents using authorized company vehicles.
• Assist residents with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs and mobility equipment.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
• Complete routine vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Maintain transportation logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with nursing staff regarding schedules and resident needs.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate service to our residents.
• Help keep our vehicles safe, clean, fueled, and ready for daily use.

As a Transportation Assistant, you’ll provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for our residents to:

• Medical appointments

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 25 years old

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility needs
• CPR & First Aid certification required or obtained within the required timeframe
• Previous passenger transportation experience preferred
