Job summary

Hermann Transportation seeks a Driver Manager in New Jersey to lead driver engagement, dispatch execution, and service performance in a fast-paced asset-based operation.

The role requires strong experience with HOS, load planning, and comprehensive use of McLeod software, with a transition from OmniTracs to Samsara. You will collaborate with CSRs, Planners, and Maintenance to ensure on-time freight movement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of trucking operations or driver management experience.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch processes and HOS regulations.
• Experience with appointment-based freight and time-sensitive deliveries.
• Ability to manage multiple drivers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a fleet of assigned drivers to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations
• Oversee dispatch execution, driver scheduling, and load assignment with planners
• Monitor driver HOS, availability, and performance using McLeod and telematics
• Address service issues and delays to protect customer commitments
• Maintain daily driver communications about load details and appointments
• Support driver retention and engagement through follow-up and relationship-building
• Ensure accurate load updates within McLeod and review driver logs
• Coordinate with CSRs, Planners, and Maintenance for freight movement
• Assist drivers with onboarding into company systems
