final mile is seeking a Driver Manager in Indianapolis, IN to lead a 30-35 driver fleet and drive performance, safety, utilization, and retention. You will conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed, while leveraging Transportation Management Systems for timely data.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to train drivers on tools like Omnitracs and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Manages driver performance by setting expectations and conducting regular reviews.
• Accountable for safety and regulatory performance and corrective action plans.
• Responsible for driver retention and problem resolution with drivers.
• Ensures FMCSA regulatory compliance (hours of service, drug testing, licensing).
• Trains and mentors drivers on tools and payroll processes.
• Manages schedules, time off, holidays, and vacations.
• Resolves payroll discrepancies and authorizes pay changes.
• Manages driver utilization and collaborates with load planners.
• Ensures proper handoffs and resolves driver issues daily.
• Enforces company policies and fosters high performance culture.
• Supports load planning and recovery of loads.
• Delivers timely updates to load planning and carrier management.
