Job summary

Marten Transport, Ltd. is seeking a Customer Service/Driver Relations Associate to serve as a driver representative in operations.

You will manage driver performance, communicate load details, and back up the customer service manager in the region to maintain top-tier service for customers and drivers. Responsibilities include coordinating load information, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery, and supervising fleet activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in business, logistics, marketing, or related majors, or applicable experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to isolate and solve problems efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Communicate load information, advances, purchase orders, maintenance coordination, performance counseling and company news to drivers.
• Assist and/or manage parts of a fleet to optimize on-time pickup/delivery, pallet management, and route efficiency.
• Ensure drivers understand customer and company expectations at dispatch.
• Daily accounting of all assigned trucks and drivers.
• Record details and directions on loads booked for the area.
• Provide backup to the customer service manager in the region.
• Supervise trailer pools and secure loading/unloading appointments.
• Pursue knowledge of other positions to broaden career development.
• Maintain service levels with customers as directed by sales/marketing.
• Perform routine solicitations of customers by phone or other means.
• Delegate duties and train customer service associates.
