Job summary

FCC Environmental Services in Leesburg is hiring a Driver to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, load and unload materials with hydraulic lifts, and record daily tickets. You will operate on company property, maintain logs, and communicate with the team to ensure safe, timely operations.

The role requires attention to safety, adherence to regulations, and ability to work with others in a fast-paced waste-services environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires a valid driver's license; Class A license preferred.
  • Experience driving trucks and performing pre/post-trip inspections is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck.
  • Record tickets on daily logs and maintain accurate records.
  • Load and unload using hydraulic lifts and scale loads on company property.
  • Communicate with drivers and personnel via radio.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and conduct basic maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain daily logs and follow safety policies and traffic regulations.
  • Work as part of a team to minimize downtime and debris on routes.
  • Operate safely and adhere to load procedures and PPE requirements.

Scale loads both heavy and light. They will be required to record tickets on daily logs.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Inspects truck by completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Inspects tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and waterDrives truck to destinations on company propertyLoads and unloads truck by using hydraulic powered liftsWrite up work orders as needed to maintain and repair vehicleUses radio to effectively communicate with other drivers and personnelMaintains proper housekeeping by keeping assigned vehicle clean and tidy, both inside and out – including blowing out air filters for vehicle and AC unitsMaintain daily logsPick up fallen debris on all transportation lanes or notify Supervisor or Manager if not feasible to do soOperate equipment in a safe manner by understanding and obeying all Federal, State and Local traffic rules and regulationsUnderstanding of operating procedures for all three load outs (Old Loadout, New Loadout and 88 Line)Actively prevent the debris dropping from trucks due to over fillingMust work in a team oriented fashion to ensure sort stoppage due to full or no trucks is held to an absolute minimum—this may mean shifting trucks between loadoutsMust adhere to and follow all company policies and proceduresMust adhere to and follow all company safety policies, not limited to continual use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe mannerPerforms other work-related duties as assignedExperience and Competencies:High School Diploma Preferred1 year of driving experience, training, or a combinationClass A license preferredMust be able to operate Manual Transmission VehiclesPersonal Characteristics:Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices.
