Job summary

FCC Environmental Services in Venice Gardens, FL is seeking a reliable Truck Driver to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, drive company trucks on site, load and unload with hydraulic lifts, and maintain daily logs. You will inspect tires, lights, brakes, fluids and communicate via radio, keeping vehicles clean and safe.

A high school diploma is preferred and at least 1 year of driving experience; Class A license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects truck by completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Inspects tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drives truck to destinations on company property.
• Loads and unloads truck using hydraulic powered lifts.
• Writes up work orders to maintain and repair vehicle.
• Uses radio to communicate with other drivers and personnel.
• Maintains daily logs and keeps vehicle clean inside and out.
• Inspects and maintains air filters for vehicle and AC units.
• Operates equipment in a safe manner following all regulations.
• Understands loading procedures for all loadouts and prevents debris release.
• Works in a team to minimize downtime and shift trucks between loadouts.
• Adheres to company policies and PPE requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Inspects tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and waterDrives truck to destinations on company propertyLoads and unloads truck by using hydraulic powered liftsWrite up work orders as needed to maintain and repair vehicleUses radio to effectively communicate with other drivers and personnelMaintains proper housekeeping by keeping assigned vehicle clean and tidy, both inside and out – including blowing out air filters for vehicle and AC unitsMaintain daily logsPick up fallen debris on all transportation lanes or notify Supervisor or Manager if not feasible to do soOperate equipment in a safe manner by understanding and obeying all Federal, State and Local traffic rules and regulationsUnderstanding of operating procedures for all three load outs (Old Loadout, New Loadout and 88 Line)Actively prevent the debris dropping from trucks due to over fillingMust work in a team oriented fashion to ensure sort stoppage due to full or no trucks is held to an absolute minimum—this may mean shifting trucks between loadoutsMust adhere to and follow all company policies and proceduresMust adhere to and follow all company safety policies, not limited to continual use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe mannerPerforms other work-related duties as assignedExperience and Competencies:High School Diploma Preferred1 year of driving experience, training, or a combinationClass A license preferredMust be able to operate Manual Transmission VehiclesPersonal Characteristics:Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices.
