Job summary

Mead Lumber of Laurel is seeking a delivery driver to transport and unload merchandise at customer jobsites. You will load trucks, prepare items for delivery, and ensure customer satisfaction through accurate and careful handling.

Responsibilities include learning products and procedures, performing vehicle inspections, operating forklifts, and assisting yard customers with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork. Competitive hourly pay and benefits accompany the ESOP program.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; CDL is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds consistently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pull and stage materials for delivery or pickup according to tickets and invoices.
• Load, deliver, and unload materials safely, accurately, and timely to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform vehicle inspections for safe operation.

• Document merchandise returns using credit memos.
• Organize and put away products in designated locations.
• Build lumber packs accurately and efficiently.
• Assist customers in the yard and address their needs.
• Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team to support daily yard operations.

Job Summary: Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer's satisfaction. Help load and unload trucks, put merchandise away, clean up yard.

Pay for this Role: $19.00 an hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Accurately pull and stage materials for delivery or customer pickup (will call) according to picking tickets and sales invoices.
• Load, deliver, and unload materials safely, accurately, and in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Operate forklifts safely and properly in accordance with company procedures and safety protocols.
• Accurately document merchandise returns using credit memos.
• Organize and put away products in designated bin locations.
• Build lumber packs accurately and efficiently.
• Assist customers in the yard and address their needs while providing excellent customer service.
• Follow all company safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to support daily yard operations.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; CDL is a plus.
