Job summary

The Blood Center is hiring for a Driver/Medical Screener (Hammond and New Orleans) in a full-time role. You will operate large vehicles to mobile drive sites, assist with setup/teardown, and support donor flow while learning medical screening procedures.

Ideal candidates have a valid CDL with airbrake certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience driving large vehicles. Strong customer relations and the ability to work under pressure are essential for success.

Overview

Driver/Medical Screener (Hammond and New Orleans) – full-time position with The Blood Center.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Blood Center in a professional manner and adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Drive buses to and from mobile drive sites and assist with setup and tear down of drive sites.
• Support smooth and efficient donor flow and determine donor acceptability.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies and be willing to learn medical screening.

Qualifications

• Licenses: Valid CDL driver's license with airbrake certification.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience driving large vehicles.
• Specific Skills: Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Working knowledge of word processing.
• Good aptitude for expediting donor flow.
• Knowledge and understanding of donor screening requirements.
