Driver Manager

Full-time, York, PA

The Driver Manager is a member of the Day & Ross Operations Team. The role involves ensuring safe, on-time delivery for customers, maximizing productivity and profitability of drivers and trucks, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring driver adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Effectively multitask and manage relationships with drivers and customers.
2. Provide load information, routing, ETA, and directions to drivers.
3. Monitor communication systems and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
4. Maintain accurate records in the TMS System.
5. Assist with driver coaching on time management and HOS compliance.
6. Handle customer communications and develop new business opportunities.
7. Coordinate weekend dispatch coverage as needed.

Skills & Experience

1. High school Diploma or GED; logistics experience preferred.
2. Transportation, supervision, or operational experience required.
3. Knowledge of TMS, PeopleNet, or Qualcomm systems preferred.
4. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
5. Understanding of DOT rules and regulations.
6. Proficiency in MS Office; SAP knowledge a plus.
