Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Driver License Examiner in Centre County to support safe travel across the Commonwealth. You will guide applicants through testing, verify identities, review documents, and maintain high security and service standards at the Driver License Center.

Responsibilities include evaluating qualifications, validating vehicle readiness, administering tests, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title) or two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License and be at least 21 years old at time of application.
• No suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five years preceding employment.
• Must obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within six months of employment or by end of probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Determine physical and driving qualifications through standardized testing.
• Check vehicles for proper mechanical conditions before testing begins.
• Examine documents and confirm authenticity to prevent fraud.
• Conduct knowledge, skills, and road tests according to procedures.
• Process applications, explain requirements, and provide licensing information.
