Job summary

The Ohio Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Driver Exam Services, District 3 North Canton, seeks a Driver License Station Supervisor to oversee district operations, supervise examiners, schedule and train staff, and conduct license testing.

You will interact with the public daily, handle complaints, and ensure testing procedures comply with policies; compensation starts at $27.73/hour with a full-time schedule; Canton location.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising staff and coordinating test operations is required.
• Knowledge of driver licensing policies and testing procedures is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises lower ranking examiners & supports personnel at a district level.
• Schedules, trains & evaluates employees assigned to the district.
• Oversees the daily operations of the facilities.
• Conducts written, oral & over the road license testing.
• Investigates complaints and documents facts; interacts with the public daily as a representative of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Work Hours: Tuesday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

What you'll Do as a Driver License Station Supervisor

• Directly supervises lower ranking examiners &/or supports personnel at a district level;
• Schedules, trains & evaluates employees assigned to the district;
• Oversees the daily operations of the facilities;
• Conducts written, oral & over the road license testing;
• Investigates complaints & documents facts relating to said complaints & issues discipline; Interacts with the public on a daily basis as the representative of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Qualifications

• Option 1: 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in laws & signs applicable for operation of motorized vehicles, to include commercial vehicles & Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ policies & procedures governing testing for & issuance of driver licenses & commercial vehicle licenses; AND 1 yr. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques or providing work direction & training to other employees; valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
• Option 2: Or 12 mos. exp. as Driver License Examiner 2 (Lead Worker), 24333; AND valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
• Option 3: Or 12 mos. exp. as CDL Field Representative 24332; AND 12 mos. exp. in providing work direction & training to other employees; valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
• Option 4: Or 12 mos. exp. as Driver Examination Field Representative 24334; AND 12 mos. exp. in providing work direction & training to other employees; AND valid Ohio Class ‘D’ Driver License.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
