Job summary

MTM Transit is hiring Full Time and Part Time Drivers for Kona, Hawaii. Training classes start every other week. Location: 75-5722 Kuakini Hwy - Suite 207 Kailua Kona, HI 96740.

The role focuses on safe, personalized transportation with excellent customer service. We offer competitive hourly pay of $29.09, medical/dental/vision benefits, paid training, overtime, holidays, PTO, 401(k) with company match, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Must have Hawaii driver's license.
• Minimum 3 years driving history with no more than two moving violations in past 3 years.
• DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Background and MVR check required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
• Assist with mobility device securement for safety protocols.

What you'll need:

• Experience, Education & Certifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license
• Must have a minimum of 3 years driving history
• No more than two moving violations in past 3 years
• Have 3 subsequent years with no violations if license had been revoked
• No suspensions or at fault accidents in the last 3 years
• No DUI or DWI convictions within the last 10 years
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle record check
• Valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

What You'll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
• Complete paperwork as required
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
