Job summary

MTM Transit is hiring Full Time & Part Time Drivers for their Kona, Hawaii operations. The role focuses on safe, reliable transportation with emphasis on customer service and accessibility for older adults and disabled riders.

Applicants must meet the listed driving history, license, and background requirements, pass DOT physicals and drug tests, and be able to work in a team environment. Training classes start regularly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license.
• Minimum of 3 years driving history.
• No more than two moving violations in past 3 years.
• No DUI/DWI in last 10 years.
• DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading.
• Assist with mobility devices per safety protocols.
• Ensure on-time pickup and drop-off of customers.
• Show sensitivity to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections; fill out paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.
