Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a delivery driver to safely drop off and pick up materials from vendors and construction sites. You will drive, load/unload, and route efficiently while maintaining vehicle upkeep and accurate paperwork.

The role requires a valid Class A license, 5+ years of delivery experience (flatbed preferred), and strong customer service with attention to safety. On-site work across projects and warehouses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years relevant delivery experience; flatbed experience preferred.
  • Valid Class A Driver’s license required.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move products with pallet jack or forklift.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Effective communication and strong customer-service skills.
  • Clear safety discipline and awareness.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and on job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery trucks to job sites and company destinations, securing loads safely.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and transport tools, supplies and equipment by hand or with dolly/forklift.
  • Keep vehicle clean and report mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
  • Maintain organized work area.
  • Plan efficient routes and ensure safe stocking of vehicle.
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
  • Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and track maintenance history.
  • May provide guidance to junior staff.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently dropping off/picking up materials from various vendors and construction sites.

Position Details
  • Drives delivery trucks to job sites and company destinations. Properly secures and straps down materials safe delivery.
  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, stages, transports tools, supplies and equipment by hand or using dolly and/or forklift.
  • Maintains vehicle cleanliness and reports any mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
  • Maintains work area in clean and organized fashion.
  • Plans efficient routes and ensures proper and safe stocking of vehicle.
  • Maintains accurate delivery documentation and ensures all paperwork is completed properly.
  • Performs daily pre-trip inspection of vehicle. Maintains vehicle and equipment maintenance history.
  • May provide guidance to junior staff.
