Job summary

Driver II (Temporary Position)

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Summary

Qualified commercial driver transports passengers in bus, van, or car to local or distant points according to scheduled times.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co‑workers, and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Drives bus, van, or car to transport residents and guests over specified route according to assigned time schedule.
• Drives bus, van, or car to transport passengers for special events and activities to local or distant points for the activity department as needed.
• Assists residents on and off the vehicle as required and assists with loading packages on and off the bus as needed.
• Maintains contact with residents to schedule, confirm, and adjust appointments as needed.
• Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for resident comfort.
• Inspects bus daily before departure using a pre‑trip/post‑trip inspection form.
• Ensures vehicle is in good operating order and reports any problems to supervisor.
• Routinely cleans interior and exterior of bus and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Follows all laws and procedures of operating a commercial vehicle, reports delays or accidents, and reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
• Maintains current service records of all vehicles in the fleet, keeps records pertaining to daily inspections, routing, CHP inspections and mileage computations.
• Follows department safety standards, practices body mechanic techniques, and participates in campus‑wide safety programs.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner, wears PPE/safety equipment as required.
• Attends all mandatory in‑service meetings and complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.
• Front Porch is committed to the prevention of accidents by providing equipment with safeguards, personal safety equipment on jobs that require it, and adequate safety instructions to all employees.
• All employees are required to follow safe work habits to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors, or other employees.
• Enrolled in Mandatory Commercial Drivers random drug testing program.
• California DMV Pull notice program.

Credentials

• Class A or B California driver’s license with passenger endorsement.

Education and Equivalent Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications

• 1+ year of commercial driver experience transporting passengers in a bus/van, including ADA passengers.
