The State of Iowa invites you to join the Driver & Identification Service Center as a Consultant, helping Iowa motorists through licensing and driving tests. You’ll verify identities, apply REAL ID rules, and support a team dedicated to safety and service excellence.
You’ll interact with the public to issue licenses and IDs, administer examinations, and ensure accuracy by reviewing records. Training and certifications are provided after hire, with opportunities for growth within Iowa DOT.

As a Service Center Consultant, you’ll guide customers through the licensing process, conduct drive tests, and serve as a trusted resource for both the public and your team through the following responsibilities:
Work Conditions: When administering drive tests, you’ll be exposed to all weather elements and driving skill levels for an extended period. Rain and winter clothing will be provided.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Occasional in-state travel will be expected, along with reporting to various locations as needed.
