Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a CDL A Driver - Vehicle Porter to join our Shop Team in Oak Creek, WI. This role supports mobile and on-site fleet maintenance, transporting vehicles between shop and customer sites and delivering parts, with home every evening.

You will ensure safe operations, follow DOT regulations, and provide excellent customer service while helping meet department goals. Must have CDL A, strong driving record, and ability to lift 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related field experience, or 5 years' related field experience.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Ability to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS system.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels.
• Familiarity with local geography.
• Must pass DOT background screening and DOT physical; DOT medical card rules apply.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 3 year MVR review; valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle vehicles between maintenance shop and customer sites; home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local stores to the shop.
• Provide excellent customer service beyond customer expectations.
• Contribute to maintenance shop goals and objectives.

Duties:

• Shuttle commercial vehicles to be repaired or post repairs between our maintenance shop and our customers in the surrounding area - be home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local parts stores/distribution centers back to our maintenance shop.
• Provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond customers' expectations.
• Contributes to achievement of Maintenance Shop department goals and objectives.
• Maintains a safe and compliant working environment.
• Attend management meetings when requested.
• Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.
• A valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• The ability to lift to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• The ability to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS system.
• Experience in positions demonstrates the ability to provide exceptional customer service to external and internal contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with the local geography.
• This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
• A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
• Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
• Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required; Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
