Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Driver Development Specialist in SHIPPENSBURG USX TERMINAL to lead driver training initiatives. The role covers classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on instruction, and requires collaboration with Operations and Safety for regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include delivering simulator and on-road training, maintaining training records, and guiding drivers through DOT/FMCSR standards while promoting a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Deliver driver training and development in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings.
• Present information using instructional techniques such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and videos.
• Provide simulator training and contribute to content development and improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, class completions, evaluations, and coaching sessions.
• Perform safety-related functions including accident reviews and skill assessments.
• Coach and counsel drivers for violations of DOT regulations and company policies.
• Conduct on-road tests and other evaluations to determine driver readiness.

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, class completions, evaluations, and coaching sessions in the appropriate systems.
• Perform safety-related functions including accident reviews and skills and behavior assessments.
• Offer specific training and development programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills, i.e., close-quarter training, simulator training, e-learning, or other proprietary or non-proprietary training and development.
