Job summary

Corewell Health in Saint Joseph, MI is hiring a part-time Patient Transportation driver to pick up and deliver documents, mail, packages, lab specimens, and supplies within the hospital network. You will operate vehicles safely in all weather, maintain logs, and provide courteous, professional service to clients. The role requires a high school diploma, a minimum age of 20, an excellent driving record, and MI Chauffeur and Driver's Licenses.

Shifts run 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 20 years of age or older.
• Must have an excellent driving record.
• MI Chauffeur and MI Driver's Licenses required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely picks up and delivers documents, mail, packages, lab specimens, equipment, materials and supplies.
• Complies with traffic laws and DOT standards; represents Corewell Health professionally.
• Follows procedures for accidents/incidents and notifies leadership as required.
• Interacts with clients professionally and provides excellent customer service.
• Maintains and completes daily logs.
• Keeps vehicle ready for next route and reports any repairs needed.
• Uses technology to respond to urgent dispatch requests.

Job Summary

Picks up and delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimens’ equipment, materials, supplies and other items within the organization and institutional clients. Ensures timely, safe and accurate delivery. Must be able to operate vehicles in all weather and driving conditions. This job requires flexibility, reliability and organization.

Essential Functions

• Safely picks up & delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimen, equipment, materials, supplies and other items from appropriate locations in a timely manner
• Abides by all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and training. Represents Corewell Health in a professional manner upholding our core values of compassion, collaboration, courage and curiosity
• Follows appropriate protocol and procedures for accident/incident occurrences. Follow guidebooks outlined in each vehicle and notify leadership immediately
• Interacts with clients in a professional manner providing excellent customer service. Relays client service problems to the attention of supervisor
• Responsible for maintaining and completing daily log
• Ensures vehicle is ready for the following route by filling up the gas tank and returning keys and equipment to designated area. Keep vehicles clean, organized and prepared for the next driver to utilize. Advise Supervisor of any repair needs
• Utilizes technology to best provide services to customers. Responds to urgent dispatch requests based on business and customer needs
