Job summary

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Must have excellent driving record.
• Valid MI driver licenses and endorsements listed above.
• Basic Life Support certification or equivalent may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for employees, guests and community groups to and from various locations.
• Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment. Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate.
• Uses the radio to appropriately communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
• Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department.
• Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations and department policy.

The driver must be able to operate vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions. Drivers are required to perform vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning duties. They are also responsible for monitoring parking areas and grounds for potential security issues.
