Piedmont Health Services, Inc. in Pittsboro, NC is seeking a Driver to join the Transportation department. The role transports physically limited passengers, interacts with caregivers, and supports personal care tasks as needed.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with travel as required. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of relevant experience, valid NC driver’s license with clean MVR, and immunizations up-to-date. Compensation ranges from $17.66 to $23.74 per hour.

• 1 year experience transporting or caring for individuals with special mobility needs or impaired adults.
• Team environment experience preferred.
• Operate handicap-accessible vehicles required.
• CMS competencies must be met before working independently.

About Position

The primary responsibility of the Driver is to transport the physically limited passengers to and from their destinations. This position requires constant interaction with caregivers and community agencies; this position also performs patient care activities and assistance with personal care needs as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent. 1 year experience transporting or caring for individuals with special mobility needs or impaired adults.

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to operate handicap-accessible vehicles
• Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Valid NC Driver’s License and an acceptable three-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart. Class B or C with passenger endorsement preferred, but not required.

Immunizations: Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Pay Range: $17.66/Hourly - $23.74/Hourly (commensurate with years of experience)
