Job summary

Cano Health LLC in Miami is looking for a Patient Transport Driver who will ensure the safe and timely transport of patients to their appointments. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a clean driving record, and up to one year of driving experience, preferably in patient transportation.

The role requires excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends. Bi-lingual candidates in English and Spanish are preferred.

Job description

Job Summary

Transports patients from place of origin to appointments in a courteous and timely manner. Position requires a high commitment to service excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pick up and return patients as per schedule.
• Stay in contact with the office to report any changes in schedule, including cancellations.
• Assist patients to get in and out of the vehicle.
• Assist patients with a wheelchair.
• Ensure the safety of all passengers.
• Work flexible shifts as work dictates.
• Deliver deliveries, Holter monitors, and miscellaneous pick‑ups as needed.
• Transport patients to hospital or specialist office.
• Check and maintain the van daily, ensuring it is mechanically safe and clean.
• Report any incident or accident to the supervisor and management immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Wear company uniform.
• Utilize phone as routing system.

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 1 year of driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
• Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Clean driving record.
• Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
• Customer service skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to transport members in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and locations.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Basic mechanical skills to check and inspect vehicles daily.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to reach, lift, carry, and move objects.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently and occasionally climb.
• Work extended and flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Travel Requirements

Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics. Travel required: amount of expected travel is variable.
