Job summary

Cano Health LLC is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to ensure safe and timely transportation of patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and return patients as per schedule.

  • Checks and maintains the van daily and ensures it is mechanically safe.

Job Summary

Transports patients from place of origin to the appointments in a courteous and timely manner. Position requires a high commitment to service excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Pick up and return of patients as per schedule.
  • Stays in contact with the office to report any change in schedule including any patient cancellations.
  • Assist patients to get in and out of the vehicle.
  • Assist patients with wheelchair.
  • Ensures the safety of all passengers.
  • Works flexible shifts as work dictates.
  • Deliveries, Holter monitors, and miscellaneous pick-ups as needed.
  • Transport patient to hospital or specialist office.
  • Checks and maintains van daily and ensures that it is mechanically safe and clean.
  • Report any incident or accidents to the supervisor and management immediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required to wear company uniform.
  • Utilize phone as routing system.
  • Any other duties as assigned by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 1 year driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish Preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to transport members in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule and location.
  • Must be able to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have basic mechanical skills i.e. ability to check and fully inspect their vehicles daily.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach, lift, carry and move objects.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently and occasionally climb.
  • The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.
  • Physical demands include ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Travel Requirements

Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics.

Tools & Equipment Used

Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.
