Job summary

Cardinal Bay is seeking a Part-Time Driver to provide safe, courteous transportation within our Katy community. You will operate a 16-passenger bus, assist residents with boarding, and ensure secure handling of mobility devices while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities include reporting accidents or vehicle issues, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the care team as needed. Must have a valid license, clean driving record, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and report maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle from community to assigned destinations.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle in a safe manner.
• Follow operating safety procedures and traffic laws.
• Secure wheelchairs and report any accidents or damage promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and refuel as needed.
• Report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions to leadership.

Carriage Inn Katy has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-Time Driver to join our team. The driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous transportation service and serve as support staff to the community. Reports vehicle maintenance needs to ensure vehicle longevity. Shift:

• 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Monday - Friday
• Holidays on rotation

Responsibilities Include:

• Drive vehicle from community to assigned destinations.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle in a safe manner. Assist residents with belongings.
• Follow operating safety procedures as defined in the vehicle operating manuals.
• Observe all traffic laws. Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while transport is in progress.
• Immediately report accidents or damage to the vehicle to Executive Director or Manager on Duty.
• Clean vehicle and assure sufficient fueling to meet transportation needs.
• Report needed vehicle maintenance repairs and potentially unsafe conditions to Director of Maintenance or Executive Director.
• Monitor daily trip inspection and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a safe driving record that meets company guidelines and insurance carrier requirements.
• Handle emergency situations and basic First Aid.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Requires current Driver's License and driving record that meets company guidelines.
• Must be professional and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to solve problems, display good judgement and attention to detail.
• Able to operate a sixteen (16) passenger bus, unless otherwise required by state law.
• Able to operate tire changing equipment, First Aid Kit, wheelchair lift, and dollies/hand trucks.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
