Job summary

Dial Senior Living in Omaha, NE is seeking a part-time day transportation driver to safely transport residents to appointments and activities. You will maintain vehicle safety and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include documenting appointments, assisting residents with mobility and entering/exiting the vehicle, and reporting any vehicle issues. A valid CDL is preferred if driving a bus; prior driving experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL required for driving buses if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to and from medical appointments and activities.
• Ensure resident safety entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Ensure timely access to appointments.
• Assist residents with walking aids when entering/exiting the vehicle.
• Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
• Maintain records of resident appointments for monthly billing.
• Report vehicle deficiencies to supervisor.
• Assist lifestyle team during outings when needed.
• Report concerns about resident well-being to supervisor.
• Participate in emergency evacuation drills and help residents to safety.
• Keep vehicle clean, orderly, and safe.
• Report on-the-job injuries to supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

This position provides safe transportation for residents to scheduled activities and appointments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Transport residents to and from medical appointments and other locations, communicating effectively with residents.


• Ensure the safety of the residents as they enter and exit the vehicle.


• Ensure that the residents get into the office/building of their appointment in a safe and timely manner.


• Assist the residents with walking aids when entering and exiting the vehicle.


• Provide a high level of customer service at all times.


• Maintain records of resident appointments and submit to office for monthly billing per established procedures.


• Notify supervisor of any mechanical problems/deficiencies of the vehicle.


• When necessary, assist the lifestyle team with activities during outings.


• Report any concerns of the resident’s well-being to supervisor or Executive Director.


• Participate in emergency evacuation drills and help assist residents to safe areas, as needed.


• Maintain vehicle in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.


• Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.


• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, facility operations and personnel.


• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

• High School diploma or GED


• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age


• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record


• Must have Class B or C CDL license, if driving applicable bus


• Chauffer’s license, if required by state
