Job summary

Carriage Inn Katy is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Driver to provide safe, courteous transportation for residents and support staff. You will assist residents, ensure secure seating, and follow safety procedures. Strong communication and reliability are essential in this role.

Joining our care-driven team, you will work 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. shifts on weekdays with occasional holidays, and contribute to residents' well-being through dependable service and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of related driving or customer-service experience preferred.
• Requires current Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to operate a larger passenger vehicle and basic safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents to and from destinations safely and on time.
• Assist residents into and out of the vehicle and secure belongings.
• Follow vehicle safety procedures and traffic laws at all times.
• Report accidents or vehicle damage to leadership promptly.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and ensure adequate fuel for daily routes.

Carriage Inn Katy has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-Time Driver to join our team. The driver is responsible for providing safe, courteous transportation service and serve as support staff to the community. Reports vehicle maintenance needs to ensure vehicle longevity. Shift:

• 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Monday - Friday
• Holidays on rotation

Responsibilities Include:

• Drive vehicle from community to assigned destinations.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle in a safe manner. Assist residents with belongings.
• Follow operating safety procedures as defined in the vehicle operating manuals.
• Observe all traffic laws. Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs while transport is in progress.
• Immediately report accidents or damage to the vehicle to Executive Director or Manager on Duty.
• Clean vehicle and assure sufficient fueling to meet transportation needs.
• Report needed vehicle maintenance repairs and potentially unsafe conditions to Director of Maintenance or Executive Director.
• Monitor daily trip inspection and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a safe driving record that meets company guidelines and insurance carrier requirements.
• Handle emergency situations and basic First Aid.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Requires current Driver's License and driving record that meets company guidelines.
• Must be professional and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to solve problems, display good judgement and attention to detail.
• Able to operate a sixteen (16) passenger bus, unless otherwise required by state law.
• Able to operate tire changing equipment, First Aid Kit, wheelchair lift, and dollies/hand trucks.
• Must be willing to undergo a routine background check.
