Responsibilities

  • 1. Arrive to work in a timely manner.
  • 2. Take work orders from supervisor for client trips.
  • 3. Drive clients to destinations on time, including those with oxygen tanks and IV pumps.
  • 4. Assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle.
  • 5. Report to supervisor after drop-off.
  • 6. Report incidents or accidents to supervisor.
  • 7. Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
  • 8. Adhere to company policies and protocol.
  • 9. Maintain infection control and standard precautions.
  • 10. Follow safety precautions with tasks and equipment.
  • 11. Maintain resident comfort, privacy and dignity; interact with warmth and respect.
  • 12. Report hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues.
  • 13. Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
  • 14. Answer call lights promptly and courteously in care areas.
  • 15. Report resident concerns to the appropriate department head.
  • 16. Attend departmental meetings and in-services.
  • 17. Recognize your role in QAPI efforts.
  • 18. Attend trainings to support QAPI knowledge.
  • 19. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
  • 20. Follow policies to support QAPI efforts.
  • 21. Support QAPI initiatives with actions and attitude.
  • 22. Participate in compliance trainings and adhere to compliance plan.

Job description

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the Driver is responsible for getting clients with mobility challenges to their destinations safely and on time.

Essential Functions

  1. 1. Arrive to work in a timely manner.
  2. 2. Take work orders from supervisor for client trip.
  3. 3. Drive clients to their destinations on time, including clients with oxygentanks,
  4. intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.
  5. 4. Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle.
  6. 5. Report back to the supervisor when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
  7. 6. Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor.
  8. 7. Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
  9. 8. Adhere to company policies and protocol.
  10. 9. Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are
  11. maintained.
  12. 10. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
  13. 11. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
  14. 12. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to the supervisor.
  15. 13. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
  16. 14. Answers and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in resident care areas.
  17. 15. Reports all resident concerns to the appropriate department head.
  18. 16. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
  19. 17. Recognize your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts of your organization.
  20. 18. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
  21. 19. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
  22. 20. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
  23. 21. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
  24. 22. Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.

Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
