Job summary

Emmetsburg Care Center is seeking a responsible Driver to ensure safe and timely transport of clients with mobility challenges. You will assist clients into and out of the vehicle and report any incidents to the supervisor.

Job description

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the Driver is responsible for getting clients with mobility challenges to their destinations safely and on time.

Essential Functions

1. Arrive to work in a timely manner.
2. Take work orders from supervisor for client trip.
3. Drive clients to their destinations on time, including clients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.
4. Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle.
5. Report back to the supervisor when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
6. Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor.
7. Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
8. Adhere to company policies and protocol.
9. Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained.
10. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
11. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
12. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to the supervisor.
