Placements24 is seeking a driven Associate Attorney with a focus on Corporate Law to join our client’s established firm in East London. This on-site role involves drafting and reviewing corporate agreements, conducting due diligence, and advising on regulatory compliance.

You will work with senior attorneys, developing legal expertise in a collaborative setting. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years’ PQE in corporate law, strong research and communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law.
• Solid understanding of South African company law, contract law, and corporate governance principles.
• Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements is essential.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior attorneys in drafting and reviewing corporate agreements, including shareholder agreements, partnership deeds, and service contracts.
• Support due diligence investigations for corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and disposals.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on corporate law issues and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with the formation, registration, and dissolution of companies.
• Manage client communications and correspondence related to ongoing matters.
• Contribute to the development of legal strategies and client advice.
