Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking a maintenance/technician role in Virginia Beach to support driveshaft manufacturing. The candidate will perform technical duties, follow work orders, and operate production systems with safety and accuracy.

The position requires basic mechanical skills, good organizational abilities and the capacity to work on a production line under heat and noise conditions.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical skills with machinery and tools.
• Basic computer skills including internet and scanning systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and utilize proper PPE as instructed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions with the ability to interpret work orders and dimensional information.
• Utilize production systems via computers, tablets, scanners, etc.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of assigned work area, tools and equipment.
• Maintain a productivity level above 50% of the shift's individual goal, unless otherwise directed.
• Maintain a quality yield % of 92.5% or greater, unless otherwise directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Physical Requirement: Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to touch, grasp, handle and feel items. Noise level is usually moderate. Production floor temperature may reach up to 90+ degrees during the summer months.
