Job summary

Stellantis is seeking an experienced engineer to own driveshaft and halfshaft design, analysis, release and testing. You will coordinate with suppliers, develop DFMEA/DVP&R, and deliver modeled components and drawings for driveline systems.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage multiple complex projects, and collaborate across PLMs to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• Driveshaft/Halfshaft/Propshaft engineering experience.
• Experience or understanding in transmission, driveline & axles or related area.
• Thorough understanding of vehicle functions and general vehicle architecture.
• Understanding of typical automotive manufacturing and quality processes.
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and uncertainty and effect lasting change through effective communication and experience.
• Proactive, learning, self-driven, teamwork oriented.
• Efficient work under pressure and high communication skills.
• Training in problem solving techniques.
• Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to lead and manage Suppliers.
• Assembly and computer aided design (NX / CATIA).
• Experience with DFMEA.
• Experience with DVP&R.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Masters Degree in Engineering (preferred).
• Green/Black Belt in Shainin or DFSS (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Owner of driveshaft and halfshaft engineering for design, analysis, release and testing.
• Develop subject matter expertise for assigned components and mentor junior engineers.
• Act as single point leadership contact for suppliers’ product engineering.
• Manage supplier test plans and test execution to meet milestones.
• Prepare work plans and driving validation through DVP&R and DRBTR.
• Deliver EBOMs, models, drawings for components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address failures and implement solutions.
• Generate cost reduction ideas and design/validation plans.
• Lead and manage supplier relationships and communications.
• Prepare status reports and presentations for management.
