Coastal Well Service LLC seeks a Service Rig Operator to oversee the mechanical integrity of the drilling rig and ensure safe, efficient project execution. You will train and supervise crew members to operate rig equipment following established policies.

The role demands 5+ years in oil/gas drilling, hands-on rig experience, and a strong safety culture with the ability to travel and adapt to field conditions. Coastal Well Service supports a robust field operations environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years of oil/gas drilling with rig experience.
• Experience as rig hand, derrickhand, or driller preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
• Strong safety mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures site prep, setup, and tear down are performed properly, including rig hoisting, well control, mud, and power systems.
• Sets up/Tears Down and operates portable drilling rig to drill wells; stabilizes and tears down rig.
• Assembles drilling tools using hand/power tools.
• Adjusts stroke/impact of cable tool or changes drill bits based on strata.
• Provides component information for equipment maintenance or replacement.
• Supervises servicing and testing of rig equipment.
• Inspects rig and location; identifies safety/efficiency issues and recommends fixes.
• Plans and supervises all rig moves; may operate heavy machinery.
• Works with tool pusher, driller, and rig hands to ensure safe operations.
