Job summary

ProSidian Consulting, LLC is looking for a Drilling Engineer to provide independent engineering advisory services to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office. Job Summary

The Drilling Engineer (Technical Due Diligence & Engineering Validation for Upstream Oil & Gas – Exploration/Production) will provide independent engineering advisory services to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office (LPO) and other energy sector clients. The position is a senior consulting role performed remotely across the United States, with occasional on‑site meetings in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct independent engineering reviews and technical due diligence for large‑scale energy infrastructure projects, focusing on well planning, drilling operations, well control, schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Prepare bankable, lender‑ready deliverables such as drilling programs, well plans, risk registers, cost/schedule analyses, and daily drilling reports.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders (engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls) to support lender and DOE decision‑making.
  • Participate in data‑room reviews, information request tracking, borrower/contractor interviews, site observations, and monthly monitoring meetings.
  • Update risk registers, certify drawings, and produce independent engineer reports for DOE, LPO, and credit stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience, with a proven track record on oil and gas, power, utilities, or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or a related technical field.
  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI, or other discipline‑specific credentials are preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOE LPO and energy‑sector lending processes is an advantage.
