Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Applications Engineer in Houston to deliver technical insights, analyze applications, and recommend products to optimize drilling performance. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Technology teams to support field execution and contribute to new product development.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4+ years of field drilling experience, and strong communication and leadership skills to influence customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of technical field experience in drilling or drill bits.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with field operations and sales to deliver technical value and performance insights to customers.
• Provide post-sales technical support, including performance reviews, run analysis, and customer troubleshooting.
• Conduct detailed applications analysis to optimize bit selection and drilling performance.
• Approve drill bit repairs and ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Collaborate with Technology teams to support new product development, testing, and launch activities.
• Document and communicate technical findings to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Support field operations with technical recommendations and best practices.
• Promote strong customer relationships through professional communication and service quality.
