Job summary

Gessner Engineering in Brenham, TX seeks Geotechnical Driller Assistants to support setup and operation of drilling rigs for geotechnical exploration. You will assist with inspections, load supplies, and follow safety policies to ensure smooth project progress.

This on-site role involves training, routine equipment maintenance, and coordinating with engineering staff to address site conditions. Lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional travel may be required, with CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outside.
• Occasional travel up to 1 week at a time.
• Valid Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists with daily inspections of drilling equipment and vehicles.
• Load necessary supplies and equipment required for the project.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Train and eventually perform Logging and packaging samples.
• Assists with simple repairs and maintenance of drilling equipment under supervision.
• Assist with daily drilling operations, assist with adding augers and providing the proper sampling tool for soil conditions.
• Communicate job site conditions with engineering staff as needed.
• Manage time effectively and efficiently.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Geotechnical Driller Assistants with Gessner Engineering assist with the set up and operation of drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test boring.
