Job summary

Gessner Engineering LLC seeks Geotechnical Driller Assistants in Brenham, TX to assist with the setup and operation of drilling rigs for geotechnical exploration test borings. You will perform equipment inspections, load supplies, and follow safety policies while assisting with sampling and logging of soils.

The role involves travel for site work, occasional out-of-town assignments, and lifting up to 50 lbs. CDL is preferred to support field operations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside.
• Occasional travel 1 day to 1 week at a time.
• CDL (Class A) preferred but not required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily inspections of drilling equipment and vehicles.
• Load necessary supplies and equipment for the project.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Assist with logging and packaging soil samples.
• Assist with simple repairs and maintenance of drilling equipment under supervision.
• Support daily drilling operations and tool selection for soil conditions.
• Communicate job site conditions with engineering staff as needed.
• Manage time effectively on site.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Geotechnical Driller Assistants with Gessner Engineering assist with the set up and operation of drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test boring.

Responsibilities

• Assists with daily inspections of drilling equipment and vehicles.
• Load necessary supplies and equipment required for the project.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• Train and eventually perform Logging and packaging samples.
• Assists with simple repairs and maintenance of drilling equipment under supervision.
• Assist with daily drilling operations, assist with adding augers when instructed and providing driller with the proper sampling tool for the soil conditions.
• Communicate job site conditions with engineering staff as needed.
• Manage time effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outside.
• Occasional out of town travel ranging from 1 day to up to 1 week at a time.
• Valid Class A CDL (preferred)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
