Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. in Reading, PA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee for quarry work. This role offers training to learn drilling and blasting while operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders.

You will participate in safety programs, receive on‑the‑job training, and have access to a comprehensive benefits package including ESOP and 401(k). The position carries competitive hourly pay with travel allowances and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful.
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer.
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics, electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance activities for safe, efficient operation of equipment.
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute drill pattern as established.
• Inventory accessories and understand maintenance costs.
• Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and timecard accurately.
• Coordinate supplies with Blaster.
• Carry tools and supplies.
• Participate in Foreman/Safety/Job meetings as needed.
• Complete Driller I training within designated period.
